TRIGGER
Match
existing account or open opportunity?
Owner of record keeps it
new activity logged on the existing record
Segment
size band, territory, product; a new company is sized from enrichment
Assign
the lead or account to its territory owner; round-robin within a pool
SLA clock
first touch due; unworked past SLA reassigns
SQL
owner works it; AE accepts; opportunity created
↗
BY SOURCE
Inbound
demo and contact-sales requests route in minutes; everything else waits for the MQL threshold
Outbound
a booked meeting is already assigned to the mapped AE; routing only checks for an existing open opportunity. Sourced credit sits on the opportunity, not on ownership
Partner
registered deals go to a partner AE; registration date decides sourced vs. influenced for payout
Product-led
below the size threshold stays self-serve and never routes; above it, PQL routes as sales-assist
MQL or demo request
meeting booked
deal registered
PQL
match
no match
SLA still applies

How to read this

  • The first question is always whether an existing account or open opportunity matches. If so, the owner of record keeps it.
  • New records are segmented, assigned to the territory owner (round-robin inside the pool), and put on an SLA clock.
  • Unworked past the SLA means reassignment, not a reminder.
  • Ownership is at the account level. SDRs work their mapped AEs’ accounts; sourced credit is a field on the opportunity, not a change of owner.
